Shaker Credenza
Solid oak storage with hand-cut dovetails and book-matched sliding doors, reinterpreting Shaker restraint.
The concept
Commissioned by an art collector who needed storage that would not compete with the work above it. The brief borrowed Shaker principles: utility, honesty and simplicity.
Doors are book-matched from a single board so the grain continues unbroken across the façade. Hand-cut half-blind dovetails allow for seasonal movement without weakening the carcass.
Sample project written for this template; the piece and client are fictional.
